The Market Insights section provides a comprehensive overview of the current beauty e-commerce landscape — including product counts, new listings, product launches, category breakdowns, brand distribution, and pricing trends. The goal is to enable a holistic view of market movements, competitive dynamics, and assortment developments.

E-tailers included: Douglas, Notino, DM, Müller, Rossmann, Flaconi, Niche Beauty, Net-A-Porter, Sephora.

General Overview

At the top of the dashboard, the overall market is summarized:

  • Current Market State
    Shows the number of unique products and brands across all analyzed e-tailers, along with changes over the past three months.

  • New Product Launches
    Monthly breakdown of new products launched in the past 12 months.
    → Highlights when the market experienced peak innovation activity.

Products Distribution Across E-Tailers

This table shows:

  • Total number of products and brands per e-tailer

  • Number of new listings and brands

  • Growth per retailer (e.g. “+6% at Notino”)
    → Ideal for assortment performance tracking across platforms.

Ingredients, Effects, Attributes, Certifications & Formats

This area highlights which ingredients, effects, claims, certifications, and formats appear most frequently in the analyzed dataset — offering a quick snapshot of current market focus areas (e.g. trending ingredients or common product claims).

Dynamic Text Fields

The summaries here adapt based on the selected filters (e.g. category, e-tailer, or ingredient). The generated text reflects the most relevant trends based on the current filter combination.

Products Distribution, New Listings & New Launches

This section highlights which categories and subcategories dominate the market — such as Facial Care, Body Wash, or Sun Protection.

Each category shows:

  • Total product count

  • Growth vs. previous period (e.g. “Facial Care +4%”)

  • Number of new listings and true launches within the category

    Total review count for all products under that brand

    Average product rating across the brand’s full assortment
