Product Insights
The Product Insights section provides a comprehensive overview of all available products, depending on selected filters such as category, e-tailer, or certifications.
In the top right corner, you’ll always see:
Number of currently visible products
→ This number automatically adjusts based on the selected filters (e.g., “15,800 products” when filtering by Facial Care and 5 e-tailers).Timestamp of the last data update
→ Indicates when the product database was last updated (e.g., “Last Data Update: 01.07.2025”).
Trending Products
The Trending Products section displays items that are currently standing out due to particularly high market activity. The selection adjusts dynamically based on the applied filters (e.g., category, e-tailer, time period).
What makes a product “trending”?
Trending products are automatically identified through a combination of several signals:
High number of reviews
Significant increase in review frequency
Above-average star ratings
Recent market launch or new listing
→ This combination allows for a data-driven identification of highly relevant products, whether they are newly launched or currently gaining traction.
Products Overview
The Products Overview section provides a complete, filterable list of all products currently included in the dataset – clearly structured and easy to compare.
What is shown?
For each product, the following metrics are displayed:
Product name & image
Brand
Average rating
Number of customer reviews
Review growth over the last 3 months
→ This enables a quick evaluation of product performance, brand perception, and consistency in consumer feedback.
Industry Benchmark Analysis
The Industry Benchmark Analysis section offers a condensed view of the most frequently represented product features in the analyzed market – broken down by Effects, Attributes, Concerns, Active Ingredients, Certificates, Price Ranges, and Sizes.
All values reflect the current filtered data scope and adjust automatically. The goal is to uncover macro-level market trends and make informed product decisions.
Effects
The table shows the most commonly promoted effects (e.g., moisturizing, natural, soothing) in the listed products. For each effect, the following values are shown:
Number of products with this effect
Share within the overall product portfolio
Growth over the last 3 months
→ Useful for identifying trending performance claims and positioning priorities within the industry.

Attributes
This section shows the most frequently used claims across products – such as vegan, paraben free, or cruelty free. The table displays:
Total number of listed products per attribute
Percentage share of the total market
Growth rate over the last 3 months

Concerns
This table lists the main skincare needs and issues that products aim to address – such as wrinkle, sensitive skin, skin barrier. For each concern, the following is shown:
Number of assigned products
Market share compared to the overall portfolio
Growth over the last 3 months
→ Enables identification of which skin concerns are currently in focus for innovation and product development.

Active Ingredients
This table lists the most used active ingredients in the analyzed products – such as Sodium Hyaluronate, Panthenol, or Niacinamide. It shows:
Number of products containing the respective ingredient

→ Ideal for recognizing evidence-based formulation trends and responding to scientifically validated ingredient preferences.

Top Sizes
This overview displays the most popular product sizes – such as 30 ml, 50 ml, or 150 ml. For each size, the following is shown:

Market share percentage
