Product Benchmarking

Updated over 4 months ago

The Benchmarking feature enables you to systematically compare one product with similar competitor products.
Its purpose is to identify strengths, weaknesses, and unique selling points, helping you make data-driven decisions and refine your product’s market positioning.

Benefits

With Benchmarking you can:

  • Identify gaps – find areas where your product can be improved

  • Spot overlaps – highlight similarities and sharpen your product profile

  • Discover unique features – uncover what sets your product apart

  • Save time – run automated competitive analyses without manual effort

  • Make data-based decisions – rely on insights, not assumptions

Step 1 – Select a Product

Choose the product you want to benchmark.
You can find your benchmark product via:

  • the search bar

  • category filters

  • brand filters

Step 2 – Select Similar Products

eyva automatically suggests similar products based on product category, positioning, and characteristics.

You can:

  • accept these suggestions to include them in your benchmark

  • decline them if they’re not relevant

Under “Why this product”, you can see which similarities and differences exist between the suggested product and your selected product.
This helps you understand why a specific recommendation was made.

Step 3 – Adjust Your Selection

If you already have competitors or specific products in mind, you can customize your benchmark group:

  • Select competitors: eyva automatically finds suitable products from those brands

  • Manually add products: choose individual items directly

Step 4 – Analyze Results

After your selection, eyva compares the chosen products with your benchmark product.
The analysis highlights:

  • Gaps – missing attributes or features compared to competitors

  • Overlaps – shared elements among products

  • Unique – your product’s distinctive features

This gives you a clear overview of what makes your product stand out and where it differs from the competition.
